Made By HandsTM
is Made By Moms Chicago-based Made By Hands, Inc. announced today its
Make-Your-OwnTM line of children’s art
activity kits, with orders being taken by several specialty toy stores, children’s
clothing boutiques, stationery stores and bookstores in and around Founded by two moms, Ava
Berry and Dena Hirschberg, Made By HandsTM
produces innovative products that foster open-ended creativity and inspire
children’s natural curiosity about the world.
Make-Your-OwnTM art activity kits
fill a significant void in today’s children’s craft market. “We were always buying craft kits for birthday gifts,
holiday gifts and just plain “gift” gifts for our children and their
friends,” said Ava.
“They’d looked great on the shelf but when you got them home and
opened them up, there was hardly anything in them. And on top of that, oftentimes you had to
follow ridiculously complicated instructions just to end up making exactly
what the picture on the box looked like.”
“We figured if we were frustrated by the choices
available, then other moms must be, too,” said Dena. So, Ava
and Dena decided to make what they - and other moms - really wanted to
buy: timeless
art activity kits that are fun, abundantly filled, and keep children’s
attention and imagination for a long time.
Amy Krouse Rosenthal, another Constructed of the highest quality and packed with hundreds of Pop-Outs!TM (fun and easy pop-out shapes), Make-Your-OwnTM art activity kits let children create a multitude of unique art projects: picture frames, greeting cards and whimsical puppets. Simple shapes and vibrant colors inspire children’s imagination. And without instructions telling children what to do or how to create it, Make-Your-OwnTM kits foster independence and emphasize the creative process rather than a specific end-result. “The best part is that children don’t have to worry
about making their project look exactly like the picture on the box,” said Ava. “When children are allowed that kind of open-ended
creativity, there’s no end to what they can create.” Made
